Juicy & Tender Restaurant Week Steak, Club A Steakhouse

Steak. I've said this before, but it really is the main reason I could never be vegetarian. A few weeks before Restaurant Week started I studied the list of participating restaurants and their menus. I was so excited to see Club A Steakhouse on the list. Completely worth the $35 prix fixe dinner price!

Romantic and pretty dining room. Especially romantic with our group of five...

Calamari. Crispy and large enough to share between two.

10 oz Filet mignon. Heaven on a plate? Yes, I think so. Especially after adding Bearnaise sauce on the side. I ordered a medium and it was absolutely perfect with just enough pink in the middle.

Creamed spinach. Decent but nothing to write home about.

Tiramisu. Not enough rum and a little too creamy. I was still thinking about how great my steak was while eating this.

Such a wonderful steak. My only complaint about Club A was the service. It took around 5 minutes to flag down a server to ask for sauce after the steak had been served. Also, after we were given the bill, it took 5 to 10 minutes to get the server's attention to collect the payment. This is something I never really understand. If you've given a patron the cheque, wouldn't you be inclined to check back to see if they'd paid? It doesn't even have to be obvious if you don't want to rush the customer. A subtle glance over as you walk by would be adequate. Nevertheless, the food is always the most important part to me, so good thing the steak was superb.
