Lokal in Brooklyn

I was so excited when I recently received a lovely email and invitation to visit Lokal Bistro for dinner. On one of the very snowy days at the end of January, my sister and I braved the cold to head to Lokal in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

A cozy interior with stained glass windows and brick walls.

Red Beet Salad with herbed goat cheese. You can never really go wrong with beet salad... Sweet & delicious!

Tuna Tartar. This was probably one of the most generous servings I've ever seen served at a restaurant.

Grilled salmon with baby spinach and mashed potatoes. So simple and tasty. It was lightly seasoned but just right for my taste. The middle was a little more rare than I like, but the rest of it was grilled beautifully!

Roasted chicken with potatoes, beets, and carrots. Definitely my favorite dish of the night! The chicken was so moist, and similar to the salmon, lightly seasoned but still rich in flavor. The vegetables on the side were sauteed nicely with mushroom and white wine sauce.

Chocolate souffle that wasn't as light as souffles usually are. It was more like chocolate lava cake. Satisfying & wonderful, nonetheless.

Thank you, Vanina & Lokal for a lovely dinner!
