Tomoe Sushi!

We got to Tomoe at 5:40pm on a Saturday night and there was no wait for a table. By 6:30pm the restaurant was full and people started to have to put their names down and wait outside. The restaurant's really small and does not take reservations, so it's probably best to go in a small group.

Sushi Sashimi Combination-- 10 pieces of sashimi, 5 pieces of sushi and half spicy tuna, $35. The pieces were bigger than expected and everything tasted really fresh. My favorites were the salmon and spicy tuna. This dish was served with a bowl of rice and a salad.

Oysters with mushroom in broth $7.75. The oysters were huge and the broth was full of flavor from the oysters.

Mapo Tofu (麻婆豆腐), stir-fried tofu in chili sauce $8. Eyed this dish on the table next to us. Spicy but sooo good with rice. I miss eating tofu! Such a staple food at home.

Grilled Miso Cod with tomato sauce $14. omg grilled perfectly with a hint of sweetness. The tomato sauce tasted like salsa, which was kind of random. The cod was good enough on its own to not need to be dipped in anything else. This was probably my second favorite dish of the meal.

Tempura banana with vanilla ice cream $6. Generous scoop of ice cream! There was enough to have a good-sized spoonful with each bite of banana. Delicious!
