Wings at BonChon Chicken

I wasn't a big fan of BonChon's wings the first time I visited the restaurant a few months ago. I've heard so many great things about the place though, that I decided to give it another shot. Three of us arrived at the BonChon on 38th Street at around 7:30pm on a Thursday night. We were told there would be a 10 to 15 minute wait for a table. It ended up being 45 minutes.

There's a menu right inside the restaurant for ordering takeout.

The bar on the first floor.

The second floor.

Scallion Pancake $9.99. The red blob is chili sauce that spilled onto it. The pancake was too greasy.

Large Mixed Wings, half original (soy garlic) and half spicy, radishes in the middle $21.99. Perfectly crispy with a very thin batter. The spicy was way too spicy for me. The original was delicious, although I really can't eat more than 2 or 3 wings in one sitting. I felt like my stomach had a layer of oil in it halfway through the meal.

Fries (The wings come with a free side!) We chose french fries. These were nicely crispy too!

From the reviews I've read on Yelp, I think the free side that comes with an order of wings is only available at the 38th street location of BonChon.
The wings were great, but note that the restaurant really feels like a club. The top 40 music is really loud and you have to kind of shout to be heard when talking to people at your table. The volume on the tvs are also on, so you have to talk over that as well. It's definitely a lively atmosphere.
