Summer in Soho at Delicatessen

It has gotten so unbearably hot in the past week and a half that I am still unsure how people enjoy summers in the city. The Summer in Soho event hosted by Satisfaction Vodka turned out to be a great example of how a restaurant can offer a setting for enjoying the long daylight hours of summer while sitting in cool and controlled temperatures.

I'd visited Delicatessen before, but never noticed the "courtyard" found below a flight of stairs in the back of the restaurant. There are skylights over an enclosed space and great air conditioning so that you can feel like you're outdoors while not having to sweat profusely.

Delicatessen serves comfort foods such as fish & chips, mac & cheese and burgers, so I was surprised that the new menu introduced items such as sweet sesame chicken lettuce wraps and the most amazing pork mole tacos.

I didn't manage to take pictures of the food because as soon as a tray of food was brought out, people (including myself) attacked it like vultures. (There just wasn't enough time to eat and snap photos at the same time...)

I did, however, take a picture of the little gift bag of assorted cookies!
