On our first night in Atlanta my cousin took us to JCT Kitchen for dinner. It's a beautiful spacious restaurant with outdoor seating and live music in the bar area. The restaurant serves sophisticated Southern food and is famous for its fried chicken. Unfortunately when we tried to order it we were told it had sold out at 7:30pm. Luckily everything else we had was terrific, but next time I visit Atlanta I plan to get to JCT at 6:00pm just to be on the safe side.

Deviled Eggs with Benton's Country Ham and extra virgin olive oil, $7. Spectacular! So creamy and flavorful.
Shrimp & Grits "summer version": red mule grits, deep fried soft poached egg, crispy country ham, candied lemon, $18. The grits was creamy and the shrimp perfectly cooked. The egg was runny inside and it was a great addition to the dish.
Chicken & Dumplings: slow cooked chicken leg, sheep's milk ricotta dumplings, local vegetables, $19. The chicken was deliciously tender and the vegetables were very fresh, but the shrimp & grits definitely overshadowed this dish.
Georgia Peach Fried Pie with bourbon vanilla ice cream, $8. There was no peach cobbler on the menu, so we ordered this instead. It was superb! The peaches were so hot and the juice came spilling out after cutting into the crust.
