DC: Filet Mignon at Ray's the Steaks

I loooove steak and had been wanting to check out Ray's the Steaks during my previous visit to DC but there hadn't been enough time. This time I was excited to find that Natalie also really wanted to visit this restaurant as well!

The decor is not really worth mentioning... Basically simple and no frills.

Sherried Crab Bisque (bowl), $8.99. Beyond delicious. Rich and creamy with chunks of crab meat. The two of us shared this and were both scraping at the bowl with our spoons at the end.

Filet Mignon, $31.99 for 9 ounces. Seared Foie Gras with Truffle Oil, $10. The foie gras was seared nicely with a pink tinge in the middle. The steak was very tender but a little too rare for a medium; there were parts that were very red.

Complimentary sides to share: homemade mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. There are unlimited refills for these sides!

Complimentary pieces of peanut butter fudge. Divine. There was a slightly crispiness within the lovely little dessert.

Such good value for the food here. It wasn't the best steak I'd ever had, but the crab bisque and peanut fudge are worth returning for!
