DC: Greek Dishes at Zaytinya

Natalie brought me to Zaytinya for a post-brunch snack (we never stop eating) and it was delicious! The dining space is large and comprised of two floors. There are big floor to ceiling windows letting in lots of sunlight. The restaurant serves Greek & Turkish food, and is great for sharing.

The comfortable airy and bright interior.


Warm pita bread with olive oil and vinegar.


Htipiti, $7.50: marinated roasted red peppers, feta, thyme. Delicious! Love anything with feta cheese.


Falafel, $8: traditional chickpea fritters, tahini sauce. Perfectly crunchy and tasty.


Octopus Santorini, $12: grilled mediterranean octopus, marinated onions, capers, yellow split pea puree. This was a favorite for both of us. The octopus was nicely grilled with a nice charred flavor, and the pea puree was a lovely slightly sweet complement.


Kolokithokeftedes, $7.50: zucchini and cheese patties, caper-yoghurt sauce. This was a little too salty.
