First Stop in New Orleans: Cafe du Monde

What an amazing weekend. It was mainly spent eating and killing time between meals either with naps or drinks. The food was incredible! Everyone must take a trip to New Orleans at some point in their lives.

For breakfast on Friday morning in Nola we walked the few blocks from our hotel over to Cafe du Monde. There was already a line of around 15 to 20 people deep by the time we got there at 10:45am.

Two orders of beignets (One order is $2.42 for 3 beignets). From left to right, cafe au lait $2.42, black coffee $2.42, hot chocolate $2.42.
I loved how dense the beignets were, and that they were covered with so much powdered sugar. Unfortunately these weren't hot enough, but we went again later that night and they were perfect!

I'm not a big fan of regular coffee, so I got a hot chocolate. It was very rich and sweet, just the way I like my hot chocolate!
