The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park

Even though New York's weather has been quite cool for the past few weeks, after attending the blogger gathering of The Holiday Shops Opening at Bryant Park, it really hit me that Christmas is only a little over a month away! The event was a lot of fun. We browsed some of the jewelry stores, and enjoyed the free food offered by several food vendors to event attendees.

A fun display of live tweets at the event.

Some of the shops and seating surrounding a fountain. Not as pretty as the fountain at The Grove in LA, but still nice nonetheless.

Our first stop was at Wafels & Dinges. I've passed the food truck several times in Chelsea, but never had the opportunity to try it.

The waffle on the left is topped with whipped cream. The one on the right is covered with spekuloos spread and strawberries. The waffles were SO perfect-- hot and fluffy. The Spekuloos spread can be described as a cross between chocolate fudge and peanut butter. It wasn't too sweet and really just the most perfect topping for a waffle (or pancake, or bread, or anything really...)

Crepe Cafe:

Sugar & Lemon crepe. Kind of boring but it really is my favorite flavor for a crepe. Sweet, sour, and not too overpowering.

As we left the event we stopped to watch the rink being smoothed over. This year I want to go skating at one of the many rinks in the city. Such a New York winter thing to do, I think it'd be quite fun!
