Totto Ramen

I'm still on the hunt for a superb ramen joint in New York, but I have to say I still have yet to find one. I'd heard quite a few friends insist that Totto Ramen serves better ramen than Ippudo, and was excited to check it out. A month ago, two friends and I visited the restaurant on a Sunday night and waited a little over 2 hours for a table.

The small restaurant has less than 20 seats, with half being bar seating.

Side orders:

Totto Miso Ramen with pork, $10.75. You can stir in as much or little miso you want. I only mixed in about half of it because I didn't want the soup to get too salty. The portion of noodles was a good size. They were nice and chewy, but the pork wasn't tender enough.

Totto Spicy Ramen with pork, $10.75. I stole a few spoonfuls of the soup from my friend's bowl, and this was definitely very tasty.

Overall, Totto Ramen had decent noodles and soup, but I really prefer to have such tender pork that it basically melts in your mouth.
