Madrid: Gourmet Experience Gran Via

Gourmet Experience is a strange name for a food court, but it really is an appropriate description of the place. Located on the 9th floor of the mall El Corte Inglés, the food court offers several shops with a variety of cuisines such as Spanish tapas, Mexican, Asian, and desserts. Each shop has its own seating, but there is also a large open area and outdoor patio seating to take in the city views. Although it gets quite busy during meal times, the turnover is quick and we were able to grab a window table after a short wait.

Watching the sunset from Gourmet Experience.

Couldn't get enough of these parma ham sandwiches. Also, I'm slightly embarrassed to admit that the sangria behind the sandwiches was shared between my mom, sister and me.

Slices of pesto and prosciutto arugula pizzas from Pizza al Cuadrado. The shop charges by weight, which is perfect for trying different flavors.

Grilled octopus and potatoes from La Máquina. The octopus was unbelievably tender and flavorful, and went very nicely with the sauteed potatoes.
