Apple Picking at Masker Orchard

After last year's unfortunate experience at Harvest Moon Farm and Orchard where we trekked upstate in late October only to find that there were no more apples to be picked, I made sure to schedule a trip for earlier in the season. We were blessed with absolutely perfect 23ºC weather. So nice that we really took our time enjoying just being outdoors. I proved to my friends that I can juggle (using the apples of course), we climbed trees (me in the tree), and also ate some snacks that we brought. We saw many people unpack folding chairs and tables to enjoy their picnics. Wish I'd thought of that...

Anyway, upon entering the orchard, people hand out bags to you, which you can fill for $26.95. A great deal, as we fit around 50-60 apples in the bag. Cars are conveniently allowed throughout the orchard, which made it very convenient to park right next to whichever trees we were interested in picking. We picked some Macintosh, Granny Smith, and Empire apples.

Trees are low enough to reach up and pick quite easily.

Sadly these were not warm and a little too dense.
